Personal Statement
I began playing soccer at the age of 4 and continued until I began high school 9 years later. The summer before my freshman year, I decided to try out for the high school Football team along with some of my friends. I enjoyed kicking, so it was an easy transition into football. It was an instant success, and I have not looked back since then. I have played on the varsity team, and have been a starting kicker since day one of my freshman year. Each year, I continue to grow in the sport and am enjoying it immensely. I will contunually work towards my dream of starting at the collegiate level.
I have been working hard throughout my high school career, and even with my Varsity sports (Football, Wrestling, and Track and Field), I have been able to maintain above a 3.9/4.0 GPA to date. I have learned how to balance multiple AP classes, athletic commitments, playing the saxophone, Boy Scouts, and family and friends while excelling in the classroom. What I lack in size, I make up for in my "heart and hustle". I ALWAYS work hard, ALWAYS play hard, and enjoy being part of a team. I add to any situation, and make a positive impact on those around me.
My goals are pretty straightforward: 1) I want to go to college; 2) play football; 3) earn a degree in Engineering; and 4) have a shot at going to the NFL. I recognize that not many players make it to the professional arena, but as Norman Vincent Peale said, "Shoot for the moon, even if you miss you're still among the stars". My family and I believe in hard work and perseverance. I know that by putting God first and continuing to work hard, the talents God has given me will allow me to do amazing things.
I will be a positive asset to any team and would love to speak to you about playing football for your school!
