Personal Statement
I started playing football in our side yard with my dad, brother, and neighborhood kids when I was old enough to throw the ball. In fourth grade, I started playing for the Optimist of Arlington, TX program. I fell in love with the sport and have pursued it with a passion for excellence. Though I've played and trained since then at the QB position, I'm open to playing any position for the good of my team. One very important character lesson football has taught me is that the team is more important than any one person; it's the "we" and not the "me" that counts on the field. Academically, I'm maintaining a 3.5 GPA entering into my senior year. My goal for this next year is finish in the top 15% of my class (of 413 students). I enjoy the rigor of the classroom and look forward to the collegiate environment, where I plan to study business. Playing Division 5A Texas football has taught me to trust my coaches, to rely on my O-Line for protection, to run every play with the belief it will succeed, and to support our D every time they are on the field. If an offensive play doesn't work, I've learned to let the last play go and prepare for the next one. My goal is to be the very best teammate on that field and to do my part to bring success to our efforts.
