Gage Shields '20 Recruiting Profile

My name is Gage Shields, I'm a young man from a small town in East Texas called New Diana. Here hard work and dedication to the attainment of something bigger than yourself mean something. The concept of team work means a great deal to me. Through achieving superior performance, setting goals and having a vision we can achieve anything. That's what I bring to the table for your Football program. It's been a hard road for me to get here and many people didn't think it would happen. See I'm not supposed to be playing football at this level. I had a foot injury in the summer before my sophomore year. It caused me to have a surgical procedure on my foot. I wasn't supposed to be able to play football again but here I am. I had to learn to walk and to run all over again. But when my Junior year came I was ready. With hard work and a lot of help, I became the starting OLB linebacker on my varsity team. Now my senior year is here and I was asked to start at QB as well. Now I'll be playing both ways this year. I look at is as challenge accepted.I may not be the biggest or the fastest guy right now but I have talent, heart, and Drive. I also have a strong work ethic and desire to be the best person and player I can be. That's what I bring to the table as a football player. I'm behind most of my peers but that won't stop me from fulfilling my dream of playing football in college. This is about betting on finding the right players for your team.
