I initially didn’t take high school as seriously as I should have. That changed when my father described how my great-grandparents were unable to receive an education in rural Virginia and North Carolina in the early 1900’s. However, they ensured that my grandparents pursued high school diplomas and in turn my parents were provided the opportunity to earn masters degrees.
My educational goal is to earn a degree in software engineering while playing football at the university level and upon graduation entering into the field of gaming development. The physical and mental preparation required to play this sport at a high level has assisted me in accomplishing things that I may not have had the confidence to do in the past.
My father is a retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel with 42 months of combat experience. He was deployed for most of my elementary and middle school years but he instilled military values and personal accountability into our family. I have grown tremendously during high school and know that I have much to learn. As I continue my personal growth as a man I am very excited about my future.
