In Junior High, I thought I wanted to play basketball in college – then my 8th grade year and the brotherhood I established changed that thought.
I followed most of my brothers, choosing Grand Prairie High School over my assigned school (South Grand Prairie). GP has been undervalued for decades – but we always knew we COULD and we DID. This year, we made headlines breaking a 28 year playoff drought, overall playing 3 of the top 10 Texas schools out of the 7-6A division (DeSoto/Duncanville/Waco Midway), with one of the smallest, but most talented squads around Dallas/Ft Worth.
My football experience:
Freshman/Sophomore year- played as defensive end and offensive guard.
Junior year – this big guy showed them I could be a tight end and offensive guard and it was a blast! Senior year, listed as a tight end but played mostly as an offensive guard/offensive line and punting team.
It was a tough fight on and off the field – but something that makes me want to continue football into college, establishing a new brotherhood. I have worked very hard to keep my grades up and have consistently been in the top 10% my entire high school career. I am currently number 34 of a class size of approximately 630. The past 4 years I have been recognized All District Academics in the 7-6A district. I was also recognized for 1st Team All District Tight End for the 7-6A district and Top Academic performer for the 2017 Gopher Varsity Football team.
Thank you for reviewing my profile and looking forward to hearing from your school.
