Although my goal is to play football, run track and someday play in the NFL, my ultimate goal is to make something of myself. On my wall I have a saying, which I learned a number of years ago and stuck with me, "If it's meant to be, It's up to me". This motivates me every day to work hard and do my best against the odds. For this small essay I believe my actions speak louder than my words. I am probably not much different than a lot of kids trying to make it, but I am smaller than most but still one of the best football athletes in my District and best track and field athletes in my state. I have top national times in the 100m(10.24, 10.40, 10.50) milesplit.com not because I can only run fast but because I have worked very hard on strength, conditioning and technique to get where I am now. I led the state in return yards in 2015 (~700 yards/10 Games/~25yd avg) and the last 4 games I returned kicks and started at CB with a cast even though I had a broken thumb. I spent extra time practicing every day to catch the ball with my cast even with the additional padding I was required to wear over the cast. I have also been a member of National Honor Society since the first year I was eligible and Academic All District every varsity football year. I am ranked 43rd in a class of ~600 because I know that education is the key to creating a good life for myself.
