I started playing football in fifth grade. I was never the hardest hitting person on the field until I learned to be comfortable with being uncomfortable. I always loved the game and aspired to play at a higher level, like every child does but never fully appreciated what it offered to me until I took responsibility for my play and action off of the field in 8th grade.
I quickly realized that there is no substitution for a tremendous work ethic and exceptional effort on every snap and rep in a game, in practice, and in the weight room. After my freshman season I fully comprehended how large a part of my life football was. I truly love the game. I've worked through early morning and late night workouts constantly in pursuit of obtaining my goal of being a collegiate athlete.
I am a hard worker. I do not like losing, but I have learned how to lose with pride and win with grace. I am a leader on my team. I lead by example and try to speak with the my actions on and off of the field. I have learned to fight through pain and I never stop until I achieve my goals. I am the type of both person and player that does what they are told without question.
Just as I push myself in athletics, I push myself in the classroom. I go to a very academically rigorous school and work hard to maintain a solid GPA. I am very engaged in the student body as I am a part of several clubs and on the Honor Council.
The love I have for playing the game cannot be expressed in words, but through my effort and play I try to make it understood. Playing football at the collegiate level would be a dream come true. Coupling playing football with an amazing education would be terrific.
