Personal Statement
HEY COACH, I'm Calvin Davenport III, ATH HOWARD HIGH SCHOOL, CHATTANOOGA, TN CLASS OF 2015 3.5 GPA 18 ACT 4.5 40 yard dash 5'7 160 375 bench 395 squat 4.2 shuttle STDENT ATHLETE! I am a kid from a small town with BIG DREAMS! I have always dreamed of playing big time college football, receiving my degreee and finally getting my mother out of our situation. I grew up rarely seeing my dad and with him being a former D1 football player at Tennessee State University it bothered me growning up always hearing about him. They would always say "Just like his daddy" or "man that's Calvin over again" but I wanted my own name. People didn't know that he wasn't around growing up so they didn't know how I felt when they would say that. IT MOTIVATED ME TO BECOME WHO I AM TODAY! MY JUNIOR SEASON RAN FOR 688 yards on just 69 carries for 7 Touchdowns avg 7.7 yards a carry. Also played defense picking up 2 interceptions and caused some force fumbles. My junior season I played at Ridgeland High School just the right set for my to accomplish my dream hopefully trying to do the things like a Vonn Bell from their past team. But things changed with my moms job forcing me to come back to Chattanooga to play my senior season I played one game on 4 carries 70 yards 1 touchdown, next game cracked a bone in my ankle a small injury that held me out for the season! I was devistated knowing my dreams were probably over! I feel like that if the chance is given to me for anything I will be a great impact at your program I will bring heart leadership and a winning attitude to the team! With my grades and my dedication to be great I feel like I can only get better and help you all get better with the help that you will give. I would do anything to see my mother smile I will do anything to make it! I really thank you for taking the time out to see what type of kid I am and may god bless you all! STRIVE FOR GREATNESS!!
