Personal Statement

As you most likely read before this, my name is Alex Jenkins, I am going into my freshman year of High School, and I put alot of time into football. I have been playing football since i was 7 years old, i have started since. My first year my coach was one of those 'My sons the best and can do anything' types and we were playing bull in the ring(which is where you get the team in a circle and have one person in the middle and the coach will walk around the circle and will call someones name and they will try to take down the person in the middle), and so the coach says "So who has the guts to think they can take on my son," and me being my smart alec self back then decided to raise my hand. What ended up happening is that I ran the kid over, and broke his arm. Since then my coaches higher up, Middle school then High school, kept an eye on me. I play other sports besides football in my mean time, so it keeps me in shape for football season,  and for wrestling it gives me a better form on tackling and things like that. I played middle school ball at 7th grade. They put me on the line because I was considered a 'big kid that cant run'. It wasnt untill my 8th grade year that they 'noticed my talent' so to say, when it came to running the ball. I was weighing a good 210lbs and running my 40yd dash in 5 flat. We clocked my 40yd dash with a bummed ankle and they said I had a 5'4 I do believe. My dream is that someday I play pro, not because of the money, but because i love football. There is not many older wreck leagues that you see for football. My heart is in football, my brain is in class and on the grid iron, and my determination is the 2-3 days a week I do extra conditioning and speed/agility training for football. I breath football, I live football, and I also love football. I am a hard working student-athlete that can bring leadership, confidence, sportsmanship, and passion to a team. The schools I am looking at right now is Vanderbilt University, University of Alabama, University of Tennessee Knoxville, and Louisianna State University. Things could change in the next 3-4 years but those are my 'rough draft' ideas. As I said before, my name is Alex Jenkins, and I weigh between 165-170lbs, and im working on speed and things like that. I will try to update this as much as possible so i've got accurate statistics on here.
