Personal Statement
My name is Cameron Pino. I am a member of the Class of 2016 at Trinity Christian Academy in Addison, Texas. I am in my fourth year as a varsity starter on the Trinity Trojans football team. I was chosen as team captain by my teammates and coaches. My senior season I was starting center and long snapper. Despite a difficult season and not making the playoffs, I was awareded Second team All-District Offensive Line and Academic All-State. As a junior I was awarded second team All State Offensive Line in the very competitive TAPPS Division 1 among a field of senior D1 college recruits. I am considered one of the key leaders on my team. I am coachable, a quick learner and a hard worker. My position coach says he can alway trust me to deliver whatever assignment he gives me. I was recently awarded the Richard Summey Trojan Fighting Heart Award, given to a player each year that exemplifies the heart of a champion. I am very honored to have received this award!
Academically, I have taken a challenging course load each year including several AP and honors classes in my senior year. I have a well-rounded resume including music, theater, community service, leadership and missions. My plan is to obtain an excellent liberal arts education and apply to law school. I am interested in sports management or other entertainment law as a career.
Football to me is not just the game itself, but the leadership, the camaraderie of the team and the interaction with coaches. I love the game of football and am looking for a university where I can grow as a student athlete, have a great college experience and, with excellent coaching and hard work, be a valuable asset to the team. I have overcome hardships to attain the level I have achieved. My skill, determination, work ethic and teamsmanship make me a great candidate for your team.
