My name is Joshua Yunker I am 18 years old and a Senior at Flour Bluff Highschool in Corpus Christi, TX. While attending Flour Bluff Highschool I was fortunate enough to spend alot of time on the footbal field. I worked hard with my team during spring football and the regular season in order to achieve a 23-3 record and a top 20 state rank during my time as a varsity starter. I was awarded 1st team All-District as a Junior in a season in which we made school history with the best football record on date with13-1. Before the start of that season we also qualified for the state 7on7 tournament in College Station, TX. I finished the year with 124 tackles as a starting linebacker and while playing numerous other positions on defense and special teams. My senior season marked the football programs 10th playoff appearence while finishing 10-2 and again made school history as the only team to win a back to back undefeated district championship. I was awarded the Most Outstanding Linebacker of District 31-4A. We lost to Port Lavaca Calhoun 27-21 following a game against Mercedes HS in which I suffered a Torn ACL. I am fighting my way through this injury and intend on stepping back on the football field in the future. I am looking forward to putting in a massive amount of work on and off the football field. I have been clocked in at 4.50 by my head coach and a 4.52 by University of North Texas' summer football camp. I currently bench 260lbs and im unable to currently squat or powerclean due to my injury. I was pushing up 340 on squat and 260 on powerclean before my injury. I intend on fully gaining 100% of my strengh, speed, quickness, vision, and agility back and adding on to it emmensly. I would like to redshirt my 1st year at a program in order to regain these assets. I would like to attend an instituion in which I can have a chance to make an impact on the team while feeling apart of a family as well as achieving succes in academics. I scored a 1600 on my SAT (3 part) and currently have a 3.1 GPA. I love learning in the class room as well as on the football field. I am a student of the game and will honor any scholarship that i receive. My grandfather won a NAIA National Championship at Montana State University. I plan on honoring my team, family, and creating a legacy of my own in the future.
