Ive been playing football since i was eight years old. My uncle was a head coach at a 1-4A school for many years and is now an assistant at a 1-5A school so ive always been around the sport. My freshman year i had atleast 25 touchdowns combined rushing and passing. At the end of the season i was moved up to the varsity level for the Texas State Playoffs. in the off season i attended a sonny demter football camp and a HSPD camp. As a sophomore i got my first start of the season at the strong safety position the third game of the season. As i went into my junior year i had a different mind set. i wanted to be the man behind the center calling the shots. Not only did i want to play quarterback but at the same times i was trying to be one of the best cross country runners in the city. Everyday after taking my parents to work i had to get ready for cross country, followed by football workouts, and finishing my day with an additional weight room work out. School days didnt get easier, i would have cross country practice before school followed by football at the end of the day. I did recieve reps at quarterback during each preseason game and started the first series of our first district game. At midway through the season my mission was accomplished. I was a suprise athlete in cross country and the starting quarterback. Going into my senior year im pushing myself harder than ever and plan on leading my fellow teammates into the Texas state playoffs while maintaining my status as one of the top runners in not only the city, but the region. As a student athlete I know I always have to strive for perfection in everything I do. I've always taken adversity head on and have never quit on myself. I'm not the person who can live with the same qualities as the people around me and I dare to be different. Not only have I challenged myself on the field and track, but with the rigor of the classes I have chose to take since middle school.
