Personal Statement

My name is Luis Baca, I am a 6'2 180 lb. 2017 Wide Receiver from Franklin High School in El Paso, Texas. Since entering Franklin I have made A/B Honor Roll and maintained a 3.6 GPA. As a Freshmen I racked up 900+ receiving yards and 12 TD's. As a Sophomore, I was moved up to start on Varsity at Corner Back and started 8 games and recorded 14 solo tackles. Junior year recorded 400+ receiving yards, and 6 TD's while starting on both Offense and Defense. Going into my Senior year I will be a 3 year starter on Defense and 2 year starter on Offense. On the field I have goals of becoming a better player for myself and the team and leading the team to a District Championship.

Off the field, I have goals of still having A's and B's and improving each day in classes. I plan to enter a university with Biology - Pre Dentistry and pursuit my dreams in becoming a Orthodontist. When it comes down to my final decision for picking a university to attend, it will be academics that will be the highest priority for me then athletics.

  • 2015 Off Season was put into order a week after Franklin's loss in Texas Playoffs. Team Workouts are 4 days a week, from weightlifting to conditioning. This Off Season I am expected to be the young leader for the football team, and I am expected to motivate my team over the course of our Off Season. As an individual I have focused on gaining weight while still keeping my speed. I have gone from 165 to 180 throughout the Off season. My speed is still at a consistent 4.5 , and my vertical is still at 33 inches. My lifts have increased across the board. Squat went from 285 to 325. Bench 185 to 200. Power Clean went from 195 to 245.
