MY INTRODUCTION My name is Seth Glass. I am a Houston Texan seeking to go to the next level of my football career by playing at the college level. I have been named Defensive MVP by my coaches for 2012. My goals are to play football at the college level and finish my higher education career with a degree in Accounting/Business Management. I will accept an invitation to become a college student from an accredited college or university willing to allow me the chance to reach those goals.
MY FOOTBALL LIFE I am a passionate, committed football player and I compete in every game with my heart and soul. I have been a football player since I was eight years old and I am versatile on the field. My size, speed and strength have allowed me to play offense and defense positions. I give more than 100% on the field and I am usually one of the players who motivates the team and build excitement! I feel good about myself and I make all my team mates feel good about themselves no matter if we won or lost a game. I respect my coaches and I am willing to learn, work hard, play hard and I am not afraid to be wrong or to fail. I realize that it is a necessary part of the journey on the road to greatness. I play football because it’s my passion and I want to go all the way but I also know the value of a good education. I have coached Little League players and gave them someone to look up to because they need a chance that they don’t get at home or at school. I had to talk to them, teach them, correct them, push them along, counsel them, play with them and we had to feed them too. I know that my purpose on earth is bigger than me.
MY LEADERSHIP/ACADEMICS I am a leader at school, at my church and in my community. We don’t have much and even though I have a financial need right now, I plan to be somebody in the future. My neighborhood is not the best but it is home. I grew up with a lot of love and I stayed out of trouble. I am not a product of my environment. I go to school, make good grades and I participate in class. I’ve had to face challenges beyond my control that caused my grades to suffer at times but I fought hard to get back on track. I was a Hurricane victim in 2008 that caused my family to be displaced. I adjusted and then joined College Forward, a program designed to help me map my future career paths and they tutor me to help me keep a focus on my grades. My desire is to get accepted into college through a football program where I can develop my playing skills, help win games, shine with my team mates, excel in academics and get a degree and build a career. I want to be somebody. I work a part time position that I have held for more than a year.
