My life consists of only a few things: God, family, school, and football. Everything that I do revolves around these four areas. God is and always will be my first priority in life because if it weren't for him then I wouldn't be able to do the things that I love. Win or lose, He receives all the glory in the end. The other three correspond pretty well. I would love to reward my parents for the money and countless hours that they have invested in my sports. Therefore, I want to earn a college scholarship through academics and/or football. The importance of my academics have been stressed since I was young. Its not only an "If you don't pass, you don't play," concept for me. I have realized that who I am and how I perform in the classroom is a reflection of not only me, but my team and my family. That's why I continue to push myself to be the best in the classroom as well as on the playing field. Then, obviously, there is football. Football is my passion and it has been for a long time. For example, I have had the same Sunday routine since I was four: breakfast, church, then football with my dad and when it came to multiplication tables in school, I was an all-star at the 7's. I started playing flag football when I was 6 and I haven't looked back since. The offseason workouts, the extra workouts, the summer lifting, the summer 2-a-days in the Texas heat, the year-round work that all leads up to the greatest feeling in the world...gameday. Taking the field in front of 6,000 hometown fans will never get old. The best part about it all is that every Friday night I get to take the field against some of the best players and teams in the state of Texas or even the nation. I am blessed to play North Texas football in division 6-6A. And, like most competitors, I hate losing more than I love winning. However, football isn't only about the wins and losses. It is a sport where any young man can learn so much about himself. I personally have learned a ton about my character, my never quit-attitude, my ability to overcome large obstacles, and my drive to be the best I can be. Football has taught me that I am capable of doing more things than I ever dreamed possible. So, whether a career in football is in my future or not, the lessons that it has taught me will be with me forever. I have large aspirations to play football at the highest level that I possibly can and attend physical therapy school. I know that I have the ability to be successful at any level and I strive to compete with the best. I can play Quarterback, Wide Receiver, or any other position desired by the coach and I will continue to outwork my opponents and perform my best wherever I am needed. I will bring a hard-working attitude and leadership skills to any team that I am a part of. Most importantly, I will step into my role and do my job at the best of my ability. I have aspirations to play football at a high level and I will continue to work until I make that dream become a reality.
