Personal Statement
I can play any position on the offensive line. This year I am the starting LG and short snapper. I also play Long Snapper position and DT. My junior year, I played RG, LG and RT, depending on the defensive set up and where my coaching staff needed me. I am highly coachable and am eager to learn. My coaching staff and camp coaches consistently praise me on my quick and accurate footwork and precise techniques. I possess the tenacious and fierce attitude that coaches are looking for in players. I have an instinctive ability to read plays and will adjust my playing approach when needed. I was voted one of the season's Team Captains by my teammates this year.
I was on varsity powerlifting for my sophomore and junior years and qualified for Regional Competition my junior year. I finished in February 2016 ranked #10 Regionally for super heavy-weight division out of 12 participants. I am also on the shot-put and discus team.
In the off-season of my junior year, I was voted Team Captain by my peers. I led my team to the Phase 2 Championship which consisted of weight-lifting and numerous agility drills over the course of several weeks. These drills are recorded and compared with 5 other teams. My team was runner-up in Phase 1 competition.
I helped to organize Spring Hill's Fellowship of Christian Athletes. I am actively involved in FCA and lead motivational meetings and prayer groups.
I am self-motivated and go above and beyond what my coaching staff expects of their players. I have worked hard to be an A-B Honor Roll student. My short-term goals are to focus on my grades and training so that I may offer myself the best opportunity to be recruited by a college. My aspiration is to play football at the collegiate level while earning my degree. I wish to pursue a career as a football coach and minor in religious studies.
My coaches often tell me that I am the "go to guy" in football and "can always be depended upon". I have a strong work ethic and am constantly striving to improve. I show true leadership on and off the field. I help my teammates with plays, footwork and drills and I try to be a consistent motivator for my team.
