2014 Texas High School Coaches Association All-State Football Academic First Team, All District Punt Returner and All District Wide Receiver. I am the only player on my team that was an All District player in two positions. For me this year was not about putting it in writing, but putting it on film. So that’s exactly what I did. I maximized every opportunity I was given this season. I made the plays that needed to be made. I blocked for my team in our new heavy run scheme and when it was time to catch the ball and make the first down, you bet that’s exactly what I did and more. This is the first year for our head coach Sterling Doty here at Magnolia High School, Magnolia, Texas and I enjoyed my time with him and I know he will continue to grow the football program here. I have taken my game up a notch and I am ready to play at the collegiate level. I am an Eagle Scout, 18th in my class with 5.1 GPA and I have a passion for being a receiver. In a pressure situation I want the ball. A couple of years back I attended Football University. Billy “White Shoes” Johnson was one of the coaches. After he saw me run my route, make the catch and finish the play he pulled me aside and told me that I reminded him of a larger Wes Welker. You can see that in the plays on my highlights, catching, blocking, and scoring the only special team’s touchdown we had all season. That was the sixth game of the year and my first punt return of the year. Needless to say I secured the job for the rest of the season. My average return per punt was 20.8 yards, well above the national average. For me it was simple, put our offense in the best field position possible, field the ball, and follow the blocks. Fair catch, nope. I look forward to hearing from you.
