Personal Statement

I have played football every year since I was 6 years old.  I have always been a starter and have always played both offense and defense. I have been a starter on our high school varsity team since I was a sophomore in high school,  I have always played on the defensive line and special teams. I was the number 1  defensive player my sophomore year in the state of Utah.  I recorded 78 tackles and 6 sacks.

In college I would like to pursue a career in media or physical therapy.  Not sure what yet, but I love to make short films and possibly do play-by-play and sports coverage. This could change however,  because I like to play it by ear. My GPA is currently 3.4 out of 4.0. I am always trying to make it better.

I love to learn everything I can about football. I have coaches tell me that they respect me for listening to what they say and then doing what they tell me to do on the field.  I will also give them my feedback of what I am seeing on the field and what I think might work. I am really cool headed and don't get upset even when other players take cheap shots like throwing sucker punches at me after the play is over. Some offensive lineman aren't very happy when I wipe out their quarterback for a 20 yard loss!

This year (2015) I will be playing defensive tackle and fullback. In the past I have ran the ball and played quarterback.  I feel I can play any position the coaches ask me to play! But there is nothing more fun than wiping out the guy with the ball for a loss of yards!

On July 26, 2015,  I broke my right hand, but never missed a single practice.  I did however miss the first 2 games (doctors orders),  but came back with  vengeance! I had 1 game with 12 tackles and 5 sacks!  Great win!  My stats may not look as good as last year,  but I was playing in a cast and a wrap for the entire season.

In wrestling, I was able to  be a part of a team that took the 3A State Championship. On the road to that, we took first in region and division as well. Individually I did the best I've ever done. I took first in region, and first in divisionals. After pinning all 3 matches at state, I ended up going in to over time in the state championship. I was able to get the guy on his back, and ended up pinning him, making me a 3A Wrestling State Champion.
