Personal Statement
I have an expectation to play college football. Using my ability to work hard in the classroom and on the field, I believe I can be a positive and productive student athlete on the college level. I want to attend a school and to be a part of a program that helps me grow not only as a football player but as a person as well. I was voted as a captain as a junior by my teammates, a position that I took seriously and was honored to hold. I have received and maintained a 4.0 since seventh grade through the current 2013 school year and expect nothing less of myself then to continue that trend through college and into my professional career. This was my second year at playing the tight-end position, the first was my sophomore year. Prior to playing tight end, I played at the quarterback position which has given me a extra perspective as a receiver. This year was a challenging season with a lot of close games, with a schedule that included five teams ranked in the top ten state wide for most of the season. We are young and learned a lot about ourselves and the competition. I have great hands and pride myself on reading the coverage and adjusting my routes. I was able to finish in the top 15 state wide in receiving touchdowns and in the top 15 in total yards receiving and total yards per game. I finished in the top 10 in 5-A in receiving touchdowns and in total yards receiving and total yards per game. My stats were: 63 receptions, 828 total yards, 9 touchdowns and a 13.1 yards per catch in ten games. I spend the off season with professional trainer working on strength and weight gain three times a week and on speed two times per week. My goal for the 2014 season is to be at around 215 - 218 pounds. I was recently awarded 1st team All-Region, 1st team All-Area and Honorable Mention All-State. I am confident that I can compete on a high level not only on the field but in academics. I look forward to this spring when I will participate in some passing camps as well as some combines.
