Personal Statement
My main collegiate goal is to find a program that utilizes my skills as an aggressive, relentless, and coachable lineman. I played 7 positions my junior year showing I receive coaching well and am hungry to get on the field. I enjoy running people over am not afraid to go helmet to helmet with anyone. I believe that a mean lineman with a great motor is the player that gets reps and therefore is rewarded with playing time on game day.
My athleticism comes from playing multiple sports like basketball and baseball. I use the speed from basketball to help with down field blocking but my main joy comes from run blocking and hitting people in the face. Playing catcher in baseball has helped my field awareness enabling me to quickly spot changes on the opposing team and then adjust to them. Baseball has also sharpened my reaction skills because as a catcher I have to be fast on my feet and throw people out at second base.
I regularly train with both weights and agility drills. I work out 4 days a week and also on Sundays with a former college lineman that is teaching me critical skills to better my game. The trainer has been teaching me college level drills which will translate directly over into a college program. I love pushing myself both on the field and in the weight room and look forward to continuing this in college.
I understand that the class room is also important. I have worked hard to achieve a 3.6 gpa and will show that same commitment in college. I will be on time for class, I will not talk back, and I will do what I am told by coaches and teachers. I will appreciate my college degree and the time committed to obtaining it.
I look forward to my senior season and the opportunity to showcase my skills both on the field and in the class room. I am a driven player that will make a great addition to a college program. I look forward to the recruiting process and speaking with college coaches.
