Over the past two seasons I started both ways in every game. I love being on the football field and working hard throughout the entire year in preparation for the season. My passion is to learn and get better each day and each play. This past season I learned an incredible amount from a great coaching staff. My desire is to continue on with my work ethic and ready myself to play college football with a goal of helping bring a championship to the team I play for. While playing football I will also dedicate myself to pursuing a degree. After getting my bachlors degree I desire to go on and get a masters degree as well to assist me in my chosen field of study. At some point in the future I would hope that I will be able to coach youth football. 2012 honors and awards: Team captain Most valuable player 1st team all-region 2012 statistics: 1) Sacks = 11 2) Tackles = 69 (24 for a loss) 3) Forced fumbles = 6 (plus 2 recovered fumbles) 4) Touchdowns = 1 Coach Joel Higginson (SHHS head coach, played for Snow College and Utah State): “Nick has the best work ethic of any player I have ever coached. Always on time, respectful and most importantly trustworthy. “ Coach Jeremy Guenter (SHHS defensive coordinator and line coach, played for Utah State): “Nick Stones is the type of kid every coach wants on his team. Nick comes to practice and works hard every day and is a great leader. Nick is very bright and catches on to schemes very quickly. There is never a question with Nick regarding effort and desire. His love for the game, his leadership, and his work ethic would be an asset to any team.” SHHS Coach’s summary: “Nick plays twice his size and has always done everything we have asked of him. He has played every day at one of the highest levels of play we have seen as coaches.” Summary: It is my desire to help bring success and championships to the college football program I play for. I desire to attend a college where I can excel as much in the class room as on the playing field. Email: [email protected] Cell phone: 801-473-1570
