Personal Statement
To myself and others, I am considered to be an energetic person when it comes to athletics, and a dedicated/focused individual when it comes to my academics. I am someone who is willing to go outside of my comfort zone to achieve what is needed from me, athletically and academically. It is my positive mindset in which strives myself and teammates to achieve our goals all together. I also find enjoyment in wanting to help others, and in doing that I try and lead by example in the process. With that, being a leader doesn't have to come from one particular person, but rather anyone who is willing to do and help with things others are too afraid of saying and doing themselves. I see myself as a leader by helping lead on the practice field, I help lead on the game field, and I do my best to help lead in our daily lives. I believe this to be the reason why I was chosen by my teammates to be a team captain my Junior and Senior year. Seeing how many of my peers that I had once looked up to, graduate and move on to the next level of their athletic careers really helps me strive for the same. I want to help make a difference within a program, whether it be athletically on the field or morally, outside of athletics. Moving on to the collegiate level of athletics is a goal I have set, but not only that, I have an even bigger goal to receive a college degree, from a institution in which cares for me and my academics. Lackadaisical is not in the same category as me, for I participate every season in a different sport, and in non-athletic extracurricular activities year round. My best is what I strive for, my best is what I ask of myself, and my best is what I give.
