Hello Coaches

My name is Jaelen J. Williams and I am currently a 6'3", 271lb Senior, Defensive and Offensive lineman from Charles City, VA. I entered and started on the Charles City High School Varsity Football team in the 9th grade. For 4 (four) consecutive years I’ve earned 1st team All-Region, All Tri-Rivers District 1st team (Defensive Tackle) and 1st & 2nd team (Offensive Tackle). I am also the defensive captain for our team. My current academic GPA is 3.5 out of a 4.0 grade scale, a member of the Honor Society and I’m ranked eighth (#8) in my class. PSAT' score (1250) and SAT score (1380) however I will be taking again throughout my senior year. I also play basketball and run track to keep in shape for each upcoming football season.

2013 Scouting Report: Williams is the type of disruptive force any team can build around on the defensive line. He plays well against the run and is a very aggressive and effective pass rusher. At the point of attack, Williams is very strong, stays low and plays with good leverage and speed. Williams is quick off the line of scrimmage and has effective speed for a 6-foot-3, 275-pound player. There is a lot room on his frame to add weight as his wingspan is well over 7' and has a standing reach at 9'. His powerful, active hands make it easy to see his great strength and aggressive, physical mentality. On pass plays, Williams beats his man, using his speed, strength and a variety of moves. When making a tackle, there aren't many players that can handle his controlled aggression. He takes up space that makes his presence felt on each play.

Analyst's Take: "Williams is a player every team in college football would want on their team. He has the ability to disrupt any play from the defensive tackle position. He is a sufficient run blocker that excels in pass blocking from the offensive tackle position. Williams's tough, physical and aggressive mindset will set the tone for any team he plays for. He makes it nearly impossible for offenses to run because he sets up camp in the backfield. He takes up space and easily sheds blockers using his speed, good technique and great strength. His style of play would be categorized as smart, aggressive and disruptive. If the play goes outside of him, Williams takes the correct angle of pursuit to get to the ball carrier. He is relentless in his pursuit and when rushing the quarterback or the ball carrier. On pass plays, Williams is a powerful player that creates great pressure and hurries due to his demanding pursuit and usually beats the offensive lineman off the ball. This requires the opposing team to regularly double and triple team him on plays.

Overview: “Williams is a quick and agile player that uses his hands, body and technique as well as any other defensive lineman in the country. Williams gets off the snap quick and has the natural pass-rushing ability of a big defensive end with the size and strength of a defensive tackle. Williams is quite a rare prospect who can play any position along the defensive line, his future is a definite 4-3 defensive tackle or as a 3-4 end."
