Personal Statement
Coach,
First thanks for taking a few moments to view my profile. Why should you consider me for your football program. I have been active in various team athletic activities since I was seven years old. Whether it was flag football, baseball or soccer, I wanted to be a part of it, the team! Competition and teamwork drives me to excel beyond the limits others tend to place on you. I knew at an early age that I would be competing at the collegiate level because me not attending college was never an option for me.
I work hard because I have too. I always had to overcome the size test among my peers. Size does matter to some in athletics, however, my work effort and training drives me to be successful. I am self motivating and set my bar very high to be able to achieve my goals in life. This attitude is contagious among my teammates making me a leader by my actions. Anything worth having in life is worth hard work and sacrifice. Thus, I am no stranger to a hard work ethic because nothing was ever handed to me without some level of effort on my part. I am a team leader who leads by example to always sharpen my skill set.
I consider myself a good student. I continue to work diligently in the classroom and during my private study time to improve my academic profile. I am not only coachable on the field, but very receptive and coachable within a classroom environment. I have worked hard at Fork Union Military Academy on building my Mind, Body and Spirit. The Spartan way of live gives you the ability to be self motivated while being self disciplined. I have achieved a sense of purpose that has prepared me for college.
I will be attending a college or university that will allow me to pursue the academic foundation for a great career. The athletic drive to compete at the highest level is also a part of the successful equation. My parents have been great role models for me and my siblings, ingraining our relationship with God and having a sense of purpose in life. Their un-wavering support and faith has sustained me throughout the tough times of becoming a young man. I believe that success is built on hard work, and nothing in life is worth having or achieving without a complete level of effort. This includes my efforts in the classroom and the athletic field, because at the end of the day when you look in the mirror and ask yourself, did I get it done today? What will be your answer?.... Mine.... Oh yeah!!!
