Personal Statement
Playing college football at the next level has been a dream of mine for about three years. After going 9 for 9 on extra points on varsity as a freshmen, while our senior kicker was hurt, many coaches told me that if I focused on kicking, I could go somewhere big one day. After being named First Team All-State 4A schools as well as First Team All-Region and Conference, I realized that my aspirations were attainable. I also take my education very seriously and would like to become an engineer or perhaps pursue a career in the a medical field.
My average kickoffs this season went about 66 yards with an 83% touchback rate and I feel very comfortable kicking 45 yard field goals off the ground (having three field goals my junior year over 40 yards). By my senior year I hope to have my average kickoff be at about 75 yards and kick 55 yard field goals off the ground with ease.
Unlike most athletes these days, I play three sports year round; football, basketball, and soccer (all on the varsity level). Growing up with a twin brother, responsibility, accountability and competitiveness have been a constant in my life. I can't wait to see which college may provide me the chance to become an outstanding kicker as well as a brilliant student-athlete.
