Personal Statement
The highlight of my football career was definitely this year, my freshman year. I got to experience both travelling for the varsity team and learning from their play experience, and playing as a starter for freshman. I enjoyed every minute on both teams, especially in the last game we played for freshman, where we came back as a team from a 12-32 deficit at the half to win the game. I learned a lot this year on the freshman team, like teamwork and how much better you play if you have it. If we had not been working together in the second half of that game we never would have one, and that made me realize just how important teamwork is.
This year, our Varsity team fell short of its championship dreams, losing a hard fought battle in the first round of the playoffs. While this hurt me bad, it helped me learn how to carry on and to have sportsmanship, even in that kind of situation. Even though I wasn't a starter I still learned that I have a duty to the team and the program, to be the best person I can be on the field, both in sportsmanship, and in play. These are a couple of reasons why I think that as a multi-sport athlete, I will fit right into your program.
