I am Christian Faber, a high school senior, student-athlete and leader in the community. I am confident in who I am, mentally tough and competitive. I strive for excellence. I believe in setting goals and achieving goals. If you were to ask my team-mates to describe me they would reply "focused and hard working." I am dedicated to the craft, focused on things I can control and ready to make adjustments when things aren't working. Coach Tom Landry said, "A winner never stops trying." I work hard on the field, in the weight room, as well as in the classroom.
What makes me different from other recruits are my athletic skills, strong work ethic, knowing the value of teamwork, and the respect and passion I have for this sport. These qualities are what makes me an excellent candidate and what I can contribute to the team.
Football has taught me many life lessons. Football teaches teamwork, leadership, discipline, confidence, sacrifice, failure and success. It's about teamwork, each player contributing their talent working together, sharing the common goal and playing to win. Football is not just a sport, but a way of life. I have had the opportunity to be part of a winning team, learning the values of leadership, teamwork, commitment and sacrifice. Last year our team won the VHSL 6A Conference Championship and were the State Semi-finalist. With success comes great responsibility. It is my responsibility to play the best I can on the field for my team, my coaches and myself. Winning no question is great, however, you learn more, grow and fight even harder when you loose. Our team is fighting hard this season to get the opportunity to be at State again this year.
I have been a volunteer leader in the community as well as a mentor to youth athletes. It is important to help our youth. There is no better way to do it than through sports. In college, I want to major in Business and Sports Management. I am looking for a program that will be a good fit for me both athletically as well as academically. I believe I have talent, leadership, skills and discipline, and what it takes to play at this next level. I am a multi-sport athlete and I am prepared and have what it takes to be successful at this level. In the coaches eyes, I want to be ''that player' to make a positive difference and have a powerful impact on their football program.
As an athlete, you never stop challenging yourself or growing. I am looking forward to the collegiate level, surrounding myself with teammates who have dreams, desires, and ambition like I do, working with Coaches who share this same passion; coaching great football, so we can go out on the field, play like Champions, and not only win games but win CHAMPIONSHIPS! Together we can get this accomplished.
