Personal Statement
The first sport I played growing up was soccer. My dad was the first person to introduce me to sports and I can't thank him more for it. Once I moved to Front Royal, Virginia, I started to play basketball for the recreational program. After two years of basketball, my coach told me that I should play football for his team. As soon as I hit the field at 8 years old, it was instant love. That first season of travel football, my team went 9-0 and won the championship. That is when I knew that I wanted to pursue football and I wanted to take it to the next level.
When I was in eighth grade I was eligible to play on the high school JV team. After that season the Varsity head coach told me that I was going to play Varsity as a freshmen because I excelled at the JV level and he thought that I was ready for the Varsity level. Those words pushed me to work hard during the offseason so I could put the team in the best position to win games. Sophomore year was a different year. That is when COVID was at large. We played in the spring and we only had seven games. However I was named 2nd team All District OL that year. The time I am writing this, my junior season just ended. I was again named 2nd team All District OL and that has pushed me even farther because I was not named 1st team. I was also named 1st team all-area for offense. At this point in my life, I have realized what my dreams are.
Being a college athlete is my dream. I want to attend a college that not only will accept me as an athlete, but I want to go to a school that is going to push me academically. My major is going to be in the business category. I want to own my own business when I am older. It's a dream to go to a school that will let me continue my football career and also help me obtain a MBA. Being a two, going into my third year of being a Varsity football captain, I know I will be a leader going forward onto the next level of athletics and in life.
