Personal Statement
My name is Trent Gilmore. I am a 6' 2" 190 pound quarterback/athlete playing for Freedom High School in Loudoun County, Virginia. I am maintaining a 3.5/4.0 GPA. I am a three-year letterman and have started at my position since my sophomore year and was named offensive player of the year as a sophomore. My teammates elected me a captain my junior and senior years.
I have worked hard at becoming the best player I can be. The last two summers I attended numerous camps and combines. At the NUC National Development Camp at the University of Oklahoma I was named the Class of 2014 Quarterback MVP. My best times were a 4.62 40 yard dash, a 4.29 shuttle, and a 31 inch vertical. I have used my foot speed to be a dual threat player, having rushed this season for as many as 163 yards in one game.
Football is my passion. I have played multiple sports throughout my life but I have a passion for the game of football. My dream is to play football at the collegiate level. I realize that not everyone can fulfill this dream but my goal is to reach whatever level my ability and effort takes me. I have played football since I was 9 years old and have been fortunate to have earned the quarterback position in each of those seasons. I have found that I enjoy the demands and leadership responsibilities of this position. I want to be the best teammate, student, and athlete that I can be. Through football I have learned the rewards of hard work and that has helped me be not only a better player but a better student as well. I know my chance to play this game will not last forever and I want to take full advantage of any opportunity football affords me from wherever that opportunity might come.
Although playing collegiate football is my dream, getting an excellent education is what I know I need to reach my goals in life. If football can help me get to a college or university where I can get that education, then that would the best of both worlds for me. Thanks for taking the time to check out my profile. Trent Gilmore
