Personal Statement
For me, playing football is a necessary part of my daily life. As a toddler I watched my older brother’s football team. I began playing for the Virginia Beach Mustangs, a Pop Warner organization, when I was five. My Tiny Mite football teammates watched cartoons, but I watched ESPN.
I have had the privilege of meeting former Virginia Beach Mustangs Percy Harvin, Scotty McGee, and Tajh Boyd. Hearing them speak helped to ignite my desire to play football at the college level, and helped me see my goal as an achievable one.
The goal of playing at the next level has been a primary goal since I was little, but once I became older, I started to realize how important having an education was. With that being said, I would also like to get my education in the area of Criminal Justice at the collegiate level. I make a good candidate because of my non-stop work ethic, hard work on and off the field, having a never satisfied mindset to always want to be better, and highly competitive. What differentiates me from other recruits would be my integrity. No matter the situation, I'm doing what's best even when there is no supervision. Athletically I am different because of my knowledge of football. Academically I differ from other recruits because just like on the field, I challenge myself in the classroom in order to become better and smarter at what I am doing. I offer a balanced package of mental toughness, positive work ethic on and off the field, and a coachable spirit that sets me apart from other recruits.
