Personal Statement
My name is Michael DiGenova (6' 2" 205). I am a senior at Camas High School in Camas, WA and play outside linebacker and tight end on the football team. My goal is to attend college, earn a degree and obtain an athletic scholarship playing college football.
This season, my team finished 13-1 and lost in the 4A state championship game (highest classification in WA) after leading by 13 with just over a minute left. I was selected league defensive player of the year and 1st Team All-State at Linebacker by the Seattle Times and the Tacoma New Tribune. Below is a link to my 2013 season's highlights:

Academically, I am currently maintaining a 3.7 GPA and scored a 1,790 on my SAT. I received a Scholar Athlete Award this past fall for maintaining a 3.5 GPA or better.
I am actively involved with my church youth group, attended a weekend leadership camp for Young Life and was selected by one of my football coaches as a Christian Athlete leader on my team. I received the Pride Inside Award from my high school for outstanding school spirit, citizenship and effort that included this statement from one of my teachers:
"Michael is an exceptional student who leads the rest of the class by example both academically and socially. He is a diligent student who has a quiet confidence that comes from his strenght of character, and it has a positive influence on his classmates. Michael makes it cool to be intelligent and kind."
My goals for my senior year are pretty straight forward. Academically, I want to maintain as close to a 4.0 GPA as possible. Athletically, I want to earn a scholarship to play football in college.
As far as college goes, I am keeping an open mind. I am looking for a school with strong academics, a football program where my skills and abilities match their needs, and a campus that feels like a home away from home.
