For as long as I can remember, I have loved football. My mom has a cousin who played for the New York Giants (Jason Whittle). I remember watching him play on television, and thinking, "I wanna do that!!!" My first exposure to playing was 3rd grade flag football for the local boys and girls club. I loved it.... but really wanted to play tackle!! My mom was hesitant to have me play tackle at such a young age until my 4th grade year, first game of the season, (flag football again), I was tackled and had my collarbone broken. Had I been wearing pads, this injury could have been avoided! Well, mom agreed, and signed me up for a local "little guy" tackle football league. From the first moment I stepped onto the field, I was in my zone. Football has been my "thing" ever since. I have also wrestled (my football coach encouraged me to join in order to build my stamina, and core strength), basketball (I have been over 6 foot since 7th grade!) I am very involved in music (trumpet and vocal) and also very involved in 4-H (our local fair is in April where I show a market hog, and am junior leader for my group). I have been in weight lifting class in school since sophomore year (first year it is offered at my school), as well as having a membership at a local gym for the summer months. I am looking forward to this fall, my senior year of football..... I have been dreaming of this year all of my life... however, my dreams don't stop at high school level. My parents and I were told my freshman year that there was no such thing as athletic scholarships anymore, with the financial issues in our country. I tried let my dream of even attending college, let alone being able to live my dream and play college ball, go by the wayside... but it is something I want so badly. I know I could do it! I decided 2 years ago to seek a degree in criminal justice, with the long term goal of state patrol police officer in mind. I want to marry my "high school sweetheart" someday, settle down, have a family, and have a good job that I love going to every day....but that is so far down the road for me. For now, I just want to play some college football! I am determined, focused, and a fast learner. I love to be the guy in the huddle who is getting the team fired up! I truly love the game, and I believe it shows when I am on the field.
