Personal Statement

My name is Dillon Johnson and I am a kicker for Orting High School. I had a very successful senior season as I was awarded the Tacoma News Tribune 2nd Team All-Area Kicker awardSPSL 2A 1st Team All-League Kicker award and the SPSL 2A 2nd Team All-League Punter award. My Junior year was my very first year of kicking footballs and I had a very successful year in doing so. I was awarded the SPSL 2A Honorable Mention Award at the end of the season after advancing to state off of my field goal in a very close district game. I also play soccer for a club team as well as my high school team. I have played soccer for about 12-13 years. My club team plays at the premier level and we were crowned the Washington State Cup Champions in February. We attended regionals in June shortly after. Last year for my high school soccer team we broke the record for the most wins in a season, were crowned the co-league champions, and broke the record for the most shutouts in a single season (10 out of 14 games) as I was a defender.

I currently am attending Pierce College through the Running Start program to further challenge myself and graduate with my Associates Degree and High School Diploma at the same time. I am also apart of the National Honor Society at my high school. I realize that volunteering hours are really important to possess when it comes to applying for colleges, and this is part of the reason why I have volunteered many hours to help and serve as a role model to little kids at a local elementary school. This is done through the College Access Corps program at Pierce College.

I am a great role model in the classroom and on the field no matter what the situation may be. I am constantly putting work in on the field kicking footballs, and in the gym lifting weights every week. I love pushing myself to get better and even further my kicking abilities on the football field. Everyday I am striving to get better to become a better student and a better athlete to find that right fit for me.
