My name is Alex Chapman, I am a student-athlete who plays football at Richland High School. My goals are to continue my education and my football career at the next level. I am very dedicated to both of these activities and think they are important parts of becoming a productive part of my community. I believe I would be an asset to any football program as well as college. I am a competitor, driven to succeed on and off the field and don't settle for less than my best effort. I won't quit and I won't hang my head. I am smart, learn fast and communicate well. I am a good teammate that believes in leading by example.
As a student I have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.61 through my junior year. I have taken many advanced classes and started on the freshmen football, basketball and baseball teams then started on varsity football and playing on both the JV and varsity baseball teams my sophomore year. This year (Jr.) I have joined the track team and will compete in the 100m, 200m and long jump.
As a sophomore, starting at cornerback, I had 4 interceptions to rank 2nd in the conference, 7 passes defended and 28 tackles with 2 for loss in 9 games earning MCC ALL-CONFERENCE HONORABLE MENTION DEFENSIVE BACK. With limited play on offense I had 7 receptions for 135 yards. I will start both ways beginning this year.
As a Junior, starting at CB, I lead the MCC with 8 interceptions, 15 passes defended, 51 tackles with 3 for loss, 2 sacks and one blocked PAT in 13 games earning MCC ALL-CONFERENCE DEFENSIVE BACK, ALL-AREA DEFENSIVE BACK and ALL-STATE HONORABLE MENTION DEFENSIVE BACK.
As a starting WR I led the conference in touchdown receptions with 8 touchdowns with 647 yards averaging 19 yards a reception.
I am proud to be part of a great team that ended the season as the Washington 4A 3rd place team only losing to the eventual state champion.
