Personal Statement
I have been selected to be a member of the 2014 leadership council for my varsity team.
My name is Jonathan Duranso, but my coaches, teammates and friends call me Johnny. I have loved the game of football for as long as I can remember. I started playing tackle football when I was in 1st grade, and ever since, I have aspired to play at the collegiate level.
My dream of playing college football is the motivation that drives me to work especially hard in the off-season: I not only train with my teammates in our school weight room, but also at NX Level weight-training facility and with a quarterback coach. My determination, perseverance and ability to lead are what earned me the starting QB position as a sophomore. I practice like I play; I like to be the first one on the field and the last one to leave.
In the classroom, I work hard to maintain a high GPA. I volunteer at our youth football and baseball camps in the summer.
I would like to attend a college that will challenge me on and off the football field. My goal is to play at the highest level of competition possible; however, I am open to all options. I am an extremely hard worker and very coachable. I believe in respect for my coaches and teammates and strive to be a good role model to all future players.
