Ryan Gersonde '17 Recruiting Profile

My name is Ryan Gersonde. I am a left footed punter from Australia. I am the no.3 ranked punter in the class of 2017 by Kohls Kicking. My family moved to Australia when I was 2 years old. When I was 10 years old I learned how to punt by playing Australian Rules football.  When we moved back to Milwaukee at 14, I tried out for American football for the first time. The coach asked if anyone wanted to try out for special teams and I raised my hand. After one left footed punt he gave me the starting punting duties for the freshman A and B teams. At the start of my sophmore year I was moved up to varisty and earned the varsity punter position. After my sophomore year, I decided to take some lessons with Kohl's because I wanted to improve. The lessons were fantastic and helped me a lot. 
Throughout this summer I have been working with Kohl's through their bi-monthly kicking sessions, going to see trainers and participating in yoga sessions to improve my flexibility and strength. I had a very successful Kohl's Invitational Camp in July 2015 and made the Underclassman All Camp Team. My best punt was 68 yards with a 4.4 hang time.  However, I did my best in the pressure round averaging over 50 yards and a hang time in the mid 4's. I am looking forward to a successful football season during my junior year at Marquette University High School. My dream is to attend and play football at a Div 1 college.
