My name is Mason, I have been playing football since 1st grade and look forward to the opportunity to play at a new level. I know that playing college football is opportunity that could change my life.
I played baseball and soccer until middle school and basketball until my junior year in high school. Football has always been my favorite and is an important part of who I am. Football gives me the chance to be part of a team, work together towards a goal, to keep physically and mentally in shape, and contribute my skill to the game/team.
My Dad has been an important part of building my skill as a kicker and punter. My Dad played football, as a kicker and punter, in high school and after. I am proud that I followed in his footsteps. My Mom is my biggest cheerleader and support off the field. She was a college athlete, and she helps keeps me motivated in my athletics and academics.
I played McFarland High School junior varsity football my freshman year and was asked to step up to varsity by the end of the season. I played McFarland varsity football for the following three years. In those three years of playing varsity football, I was honored with:
Off the field, I enjoy the outdoors and working with my hands. I am part of the Dane County Youth Apprentice Program and work for a local Design and Construction company. I like to do woodworking and welding projects at home and on our family farms. I also enjoy hunting, fishing, and 4-wheeling. I give back to my community by assisting community members with projects. One of the most memorable was helping an elderly lady clean out her house as she was preparing to move into assisted living. Other projects include lawn mowing, assist with Community Festival grounds set up and tear down, prepare and participate in Community Parades, and program fundraising.
Academically, at this time I am undecided in my major. I am interested in programs such as Mechanical Engineering, Department of Natural Resources, and Architecture Drafting/Building Construction trades programs.
