I started playing soccer at 4 years old and always had a strong leg due to my unusually long legs. My dad was a former high school quarterback/kicker and Stanford defensive end. He inspired my enthusiasm for kicking and the game of football. My parents have helped me turn my passion for football into results on the field by sending me to many of the best kicking camps in the country.
I have distinguished myself as the unanimous choice for all state kicker in the state as a junior. I was given the opportunity to suit up for every varsity game as a sophomore and should have started but I was backing up a returning all-state kicker, a junior. This year he started the first two games, but I got an opportunity and started week three making two 51 yard field goals against Laramie to seal my starting job eventually making 6 of 7 field goals over 50 yards including a state record-tying 57 yarder.
Football is not my only sport. I have competed in USSA alpine ski races since I was seven. Twice I have qualified and competed in Rocky/Central Junior Championships in 2010 and 2012. I was a starter on the varsity soccer team as a sophomore and the defender designated for all the goal kicks.
My life for as long as I can remember has revolved around sports: football in the fall followed by ski racing in the winter merging to soccer in the spring. As soon as soccer is over and school ends I start a lifting program and practice kicking and punting after lifting all summer long. Even with all of this I have maintained great grades in all honors classes. I am in the International Baccalaureate program offered by my school although I am not taking the full I.B. program.
My goals are to kick and punt for a top D-1 school and graduate with an engineering degree providing me with a fulfilling and challenging career. Regardless, of what level I play football I look forward to a fun and exciting experience as a college student-athlete.
