Personal Statement
"You have to want it more than anyone else." These are the words I've lived by since I was a little boy dreaming of playing college football. My nickname given to me by fellow teammates and coaches is "Work-horse Worsley". I give 110% every play, every practice, every time. I've worked hard the past 2 years to get stronger physically and mentally. I am honored this year to serve as a Captain of our team.
My Mom was diagnosed with breast cancer 3 years ago. I watched her raise myself and my younger brother on her own, work full time and still show up to EVERY single game. She is my #1 fan and the one that will never stop believing in me. She is my inspiration and I'm grateful every day that she is still here with us. She is the reason I understand how important furthering my education is and I would love to attend college AND play the sport that I'm passionate for.
I bring a positive attitude to my team and know that I'm just a small, but important piece to our success. I am a great student athlete who takes pride in my school work. I work hard to make sure I get assignments done ahead of time if I'm missing classes/tests for traveling for away games. Living in Wyoming, we travel really far for our games and tournaments. The closest high school we play is almost 2 hours away from my home town. I have learned how to balance school, sports, friends, and family very well. I have a 3.76 GPA and take many advanced/college classes including: Physics, Human Body Systems, Calculus, College US History, College English, and Human Anatomy & Physiology.
I started playing sports when I was 3 years old. I started out playing soccer while my Mom was the coach. I eventually tried baseball and wrestling as well. As the years have gone on, I've focused my efforts and time on football and basketball (with some spring Track to help me with my sprinting and strength). I believe being a multi-sport athlete gives me an athletic advantage.
After my Mom was diagnosed with breast cancer, I knew I wanted to go into the Medical Field. I'm really interested in the field of Oncology because of watching my Mom and learning so much during her treatments. My goal is to become an Oncologist. There is nothing that would fulfill me more than to spend the rest of my life helping people.
I hope that you take some time to learn more about me....I promise to give you 110%...and be an asset to your school and your football program.
