NCSA Educational Speaker, Cecil Martin is a former starting fullback for the Philadelphia Eagles where he emerged in 1999 after being drafted in the 6th round. Cecil was instrumental in the Eagles three playoff births and the NFC Championship two years in a row. While with the Eagles, Cecil was named to John Maddens “All Madden Team” and later went on to play for the Oakland Raiders, finishing his career in 2003 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Cecil’s efforts in the community earned him the “NFL Unsung Hero award” two years in a row and the “NFL Ed Block Courage Award”.
In college, Cecil was a four year starter for the Wisconsin-Madison Badgers, leading the team to four college bowl appearances. During his co-MVP senior year, Cecil was captain of the 1998 Big Ten Championship & 1999 Rose Bowl Championship teams. While at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Cecil Martin studied communications and was twice named to the NCAA "Good Works" team for community service.
