Othello was a very rare two sport All-American coming out of C.E. Ellison High School in Killeen, Texas. A two way starter his senior year at Safety/Flanker Othello ended his senior season being named to the prestigious All-USA Today Team on Defense. He was also an All-American Track performer in the 110HH (13.1) for two years and a member of one of the nation's fastest 4x100m relay teams.
After his senior season and many offers from Div-I schools, Othello decided to head to the West coast and sign a scholarship with UCLA. Othello played 3 seasons for the Bruins and decided to forego his senior season as he was drafted into the NFL. He lead the Bruins top ranked defense and #1 ranked secondary and was named the teams MVP on Defense his junior season. He also ran track for the Bruins and was a member of the 4x100m relay team for two seasons.
Othello was drafted to the New Orleans Saints in 1993 where he had a chance to play on one of the best defenses in the NFL as well as play in one the leagues top ranked secondaries. After leaving New Orleans, Othello had stints with Jacksonville and Green Bay before injuries finally sidelined his NFL career.
Othello is excited to share his experience and recruiting knowledge with parents and prospective collegiate student-athletes because over the years he has seen a number of excellent athletes get lost in the shuffle due to lack of information.
