Ricky Ellis played football and graduated from Cal State Fullerton in 1978 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He went on to play eight years of Professional Football from 1978 to 1985. Ricky played for the Seattle Seahawks in the National Football League (NFL), British Columbia Lions in the Canadian Football League (CFL), and the Los Angeles Express in the United States Football League (USFL). Ricky retired from the Houston Oilers in 1985.
During his playing days, Ricky was an All-Pro Tight End and was nominated for Man of the Year for his community service. He currently serves as Vice President for the NFL Alumni Association, Southern California Chapter. He is also on the Board of Directors for the NFL Goals for Life Mentoring Program, as well as, an active mentor to many youths at risk. He is a member of the Diamond Bar Breakfast Lions Club of Lions International, a community service organization. Ricky looks forward to his passion of giving back by educating student-athletes about the college recruiting process as a member of NCSA’s acclaimed speaker roster.
