Ruthie Bolton is considered one of the best women's basketball players of all-time. She is a two time Olympic gold medalist, was named to the WNBA All-Decade Team from her 8 year career with the Sacramento Monarchs and led her Auburn Tigers to consecutive Final Four appearances.
Following her professional career she coached at the college level and became involved with the Sacramento Monarchs front office. Today she works for the Bolton Foundation for Youth and travels the country as a motivational speaker.
"If you fall down seven times, get up eight. I want kids to see that attitude is so important. People miss out on great opportunities by the way they respond to things and they miss out. My dad used to say, 'life is 10 percent of what happens to you and 90 percent how you respond to it,' and that is so true. Your character reveals itself through the hard things you go through. How you deal with those adversities is the makeup of who you really are." – Ruthie Bolton
