I always knew I wanted to play soccer in college, but it did not become a plausible reality until my junior year. I knew I had the skills to play in college, but I did not have anyone pushing me to succeed until I joined NCSA.

If you have the chance to be a college athlete don’t pass it up. It is a huge time commitment but you will never regret the memories and the friends you make. You get to be a part of something that such a small amount of college students get to experience.

I learned that I should have had my highlight tape done MUCH sooner than I did. In retrospect, research your colleges before they start calling you.

When going through the process I would tell everyone to keep your options open! I thought my heart was set on the east coast. You never know where your perfect fit will be.

As a freshman entering high school full of opportunities for success, I was overwhelmed with options available for me to play Division I Women's ice hockey in college.

If I had advice to give to an incoming student/athlete, it would be this: trust yourself. Trust your instincts. Trust your heart. Be honest with yourself about what you want when making your college choice.

The most challenging part was the decision making process. I loved so many schools, teams, and coaches. Picturing myself at different schools, and following my gut was the hardest.

This is a stressful time. You need to be patient, persistent, organized, but most of all be yourself! Really be open with coaches and do not be afraid to ask questions!
