A Recruiting Analyst and National Speaker for NCSA Athletic Recruiting, Randy Taylor, has over 30 years of experience in the college football recruiting arena. Taylor graduated from the University of Illinois where he was a 3 year letterman after which he received post season awards from the Big Ten and the Blue Gray All Star Game. Following his collegiate career, he went on to join the football staff for the Fighting Illini. After his successful stint at Illinois, which included a Big Ten Championship and a Rose Bowl appearance, he became the recruiting coordinator at UNLV.
Taylor also served at UCLA, where, after landing several nationally ranked classes (including a #1 ranked class), he was named the nation's top recruiting coordinator by ESPN.com and high school football recruiting analyst, Tom Lemming. Taylor spent three years with Taylor Scouting Services advising college coaches on recruits. Other stops include San Jose State as an Assistant Athletic Director and most recently as the Director of Football Operations for the University of Minnesota.
NCSA Athletic Recruiting has joined forces with Randy Taylor to continue their mission to complete the circle between college coaches and qualified student-athletes. Randy evaluates top recruits across the country providing his evaluations to the top football programs in the nation.
The long time recruiting expert also ranks the top college football prospects for a variety of publications, co-hosts a recruiting show, teaches a recruiting class for college coaches and writes a blog for NCSA Athletic Recruiting, called “Ask Coach Taylor.”
Randy and his wife Kristine have been married since 1977, they reside in the Chicago area.
My why = In 30 plus years in college sports I have seen way too many young people miss opportunities to improve their lives and live up to their potential by failing to realize their ability and the consequences of not taking advantage of that ability. I have devoted my life to working with young people through college athletics and now at NCSA. If I can help NCSA change at least one life in a positive way we all benefit. Can you think of a better reason to do what we do? I can’t!!
Every high school student deserves the opportunity to play college sports, if desired. The experience is forever lasting and the most empowering, fulfilling and educating experience of their lives!!
