Personal Statement
My name is Samuel Legleu and I’m from a small town in Arizona called Nogales. Being from a small town there is not much to do, so all I did growing up was play basketball. I have always wanted to play basketball in college. Besides playing basketball in college I plan to get my degree and graduate from school.
I believe I’m a good candidate for any team because I’m very coachable and a good person to be around.
I’m different from other recruits because I care for the people on my team. If anyone needs help with anything I’ll help them out no matter what it is. I always stay focused in what I’m doing, whether it’s in school, practice, or a game.
For being a decent size player I have learned how to get my shot off bigger players and get around them. I’m a hard-nosed player that likes to play defense, has a good understanding of the game and what makes me different from everyone else is that I don’t get tired as often as other players would. My biggest strengths would be my shot and my playmaking ability.
Aside from my athletic abilities, I have never had a problem with my acadamics . My parents always told me that if I didn’t have the grades they wanted I couldn’t play basketball. I have had A’s and B’s since freshman year and I have took countless Honor and AP classes. I have a cumulative GPA of 3.85 and if I don’t understand something in the class I always go to tutoring so that I can understand it. I feel like this is the biggest difference between me and other recruits is that the coaches will never have to worry about my grades.
