Personal Statement
My favorite memory in my basketball career is helping lead my freshman team to go 18-0, the first undefeated team in school history. As a freshman, I was also fortunate enough to get pulled up to varsity, which made it all the way to the state championship game. As a sophomore and junior, my coach decided to start me at center. At 6’4” I am undersized for that position, but I make up for it by being the hardest working and most physical player on the court. During my junior year I earned many awards, for example, team MVP, region defensive player of the year, and first team all city. In 8th grade no one would have guessed that I would be the starting center for any team, but I worked as hard as I could to be where I am today, and each day I work even harder so I can get even better. I am an equally hard worker in the classroom. Despite playing multiple high school sports and club basketball, I still take the most challenging courses I can to allow myself to be successful in college and later in life.
I would like to find a college that can push me academically as well as athletically. I believe I can make a difference at any college whether it be on the court or in the classroom. I am an extremely hard worker, so I believe I can make a difference at your school, and on your team!
