Personal Statement
The highlight of my basketball career so far has been being recognized as conference honorable mention during my first year of organized basketball while transferring from football where I started as tight-end to basketball as a junior, along with 5A Sonoran honorable mention this season. Last season I learned and understood how much my academics impacts my game on and off the court. After my first season, I learned I didn't want to be just a passing/rebounding big man but wanted to become more of a complete package and become an impact center/power forward for my team/school. Although improvements between seasons where made by no means do I feel like I do not have more to make and look forward to advancing my skills in the years to come.
I have loved my years at my high school even though we weren't a dominant team. I have learned the importance of being a leader both off and on the court and the value of teamwork. Commitment was everything last season, it has helped me to see the leader I can be and want to become. I would like to be part of a program that fits me both academically and athletically. I believe that I have the talent, work-ethic, skill and growth potential to be an impact player for the school that invests in me.
