Personal Statement

Thank you for taking the time to view my profile, my name is Mojave Nick.  I assure you I am the motivated, competitive, hardworking student-athlete you are looking for to help advance your program. Basketball is my passion.  I have played organized team-oriented basketball since I was 5 years old.   As a junior (class of 2015) at Buena High School in Sierra Vista, AZ I am excited to elevate my game to the collegiate level. When asked what position I play my response is “Where do you need me, coach?”  I have proven to be an effective shooting guard, small forward, power forward and point guard.  My game is diverse; I have the foot speed to guard a point guard, the agility and strength to score and capture the “and-1” (my personal favorite) as small forward, I provide a defensive brick wall as a power forward, and I frequently surprise my opponents as I leap through the air to grab a rebound off the boards.

As a freshman and sophomore I earned quality varsity minutes.  I assisted my team to the 5A Division I quarter finals.  I earned the distinguished honor as Most Unselfish Player in the 2012-2013 season.  Part of my recognized unselfishness is being extremely coachable and working hard.  I spend hours in the gym, honing my craft, lifting weights and seeking ways to improve from reputable coaches.

Off the court, I have the discipline to balance sports, school, family, and worship.  My academic focus is Engineering. It is my goal to earn a Bachelors of Science in Biomedical Engineering (or major in Engineer and minor in Biology).  As the son of military veterans, I will answer my nation’s call for service by excelling in Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM).  Maintaining our position as a global leader can be achieved through innovation and application of science.

I thank you for your time, and I look forward to communicating with you. Please feel free to contact me via email, phone, postal, etc.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
