Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Skyler Coffey, I will be graduating in the year 2017. Ever since I was the age of 6 playing outside on my dirt court, it has always been a goal of mine to play collegiate basketball. As of right now in my sophomore year I am sitting on a 3.36 planning on being at a 3.5 at the end of the year. I may not be the top student in my class but I give a great effort in all my school work. As a result, I get along with my teachers because they admire my perseverance. In addition, this mentality represents mine and my basketball team's beliefs and what we stand for-to never give up. The effort I give in the classroom coincides with the effort I give on the court. I consider myself a hustle player; I will go all out for my team. I rely on my hustle to separate myself from other recruits, I will leave it all on the court so when I walk off the court I leave with no doubt. Right now I play a lot of small forward and shooting guard, though my coach has no hesitation to put me at center or power forward. Being able to play all positions also separates me from a lot of recruits, playing all positions really broadens my game and allows me to keep defenders on their toes.
